FRINGE is in! | How to DIY fringe pants!

Blog-Fringe-Prime.jpg

Now here's the NYE outfit you should have seen, but God knew. He knew that I needed to expand my creativity by not only creating one #DIY fringe look, but two! Because fringe is in.

Fringe is in!

I think I have a problem with simplicity, with taking the easier, less complicated route. Every NYE for the past two years has involved an outfit that was not easy to find! I figured I'd solve that issue by making my NYE outfit but boy was I wrong, or so I thought!Navy Blue, that's the color that I find most appropriate for NYE parties. It's not black (although black outfits are forever chic), but it's not super bright that it kills the night mood. It's a happy medium for me. So for the pat 3 years it's been my go to color. Let me start out by saying,  I never thought that navy blue was a foreign, unusual color for the department stores to carry until now.I knew that I wanted to have an all navy outfit and before I even decided I wanted fringe on my pants I wanted to look for a simple yet festive navy blue top (don't forget, me and simple just don't mix). I could not find a top like that for the life of me. Navy blue glitter top, navy blue satin top, navy blue velvet top, NOTHING! I just wanted to be festive, that's it, but clearly that wasn't happening. So I decided to channel the festive part of my outfit into my pants, which of course led me to fringe. Now I'm sure most of you have seen the beautiful Rihanna inspired fringe pants that Nasty Gal and Missguided carry online. Of course, they stick to traditional colors that sell quickly like black and red, but I didn't want that, I wanted (let's all say it) NAVY! So I said to myself, hey why not make them. It seemed fairly easy as I only had to attach the fringe trim to the pants and I already had a beautiful pair of velvet navy blue pants to sew on.Now the next thing that happened to me was scarring, just dreadful! My top 5 favorite online shopping sites let me down...Amazon guys..amazon. Never, not even once has Amazon disappointed me. They've even gone as far as providing me a refund for a mistake that I later realized was my own. But this time, the ONE time that I needed them to come through with the 2 day shipping, they delivered the fringe to my house 4 days late, 2 days after NYE!In my misery, I tried to keep hope alive by purchasing white fringe and dyeing it navy blue, and although it didn't exactly take the color, it led to my next creation; fringe on denim pants! After it all I can truly say that I'm pretty thankful. I knocked out two creative #DIYs, challenged my inner optimist and get to show you all two fringe outfits that I'm particularly proud of!Let me know what you think of these two creations! The perfect Holiday dresses

Counting down, we are 6 days away from Christmas! So if you haven't figured out your last minute looks for this special day or the last minute parties then I have two of the most perfect holiday dresses for you!*Sings* it's the most wonderful timeeeeeee of the year!! I absolutely love the holiday season. It has to be one of the best seasons for me, right next to my birthday of course. I love Christmas music, movies, the trees, the lights, the candy and of course the holiday looks! December is my month to play dress up (which I love doing), because of all the events that lead up to NYE!I will admit though, finding something that fits well, is festive, priced well, and every Sally, Jane and Sarah haven't already snagged from the stores can be difficult. So for this holiday season, I shopped on Rent The Runway! They always have new items and are perfect for seasons like this when you need multiple outfits!Fell in love would be a understatement for how I feel about these two dresses. They are both very Christamsey and could be used for whatever type of Holiday setting that you'll be in."My presence is a present," so I decided to dress up as gift. L O L 😂 I really do make myself laugh sometimes! But no seriously, doesn't this dress look like an extravagant Christmas bow! Per-son-al-ity! I paired it with a subtle and sheer white long sleeve shirt to add to the Christmas vibes! And to take it all the way over the top, I threw on my black velvet bow heels! Knit dresses are a gift from God. I almost took a nap in the dress! It was so comfortable and the fit was just right. Slim enough to create shape, but not so tight that you can see very detail on my body! I'm also becoming a very big fan of color blocking; being able to wear multiple colors in one piece of clothing sounds like a dream! The maxi length dress of this dress made it simple to pair my black patent leather heels with! I am in love with this look and had a very hard time giving this dress back!

Days & Nights w/ Threadstodisco

Funky, vintage, reworked fashion! If you haven't noticed, my most recent brand collaborations focus on a style that is timeless! Another particular reason that I love my items from Threadstodisco; This polka dot crop top to be exact! When it comes to having space in my closet, I'm almost out of room! So I'm always excited for items that can be reworked into different outfits, saving me the time and energy of looking for a new piece of clothing! As a part-time blogger, social media specialist and an active member in my church home, I can get super busy! Sometimes so busy that I don't have time to think of two different outfits for two very separate occasions. This look was created for the busy girl. Whether you're fabulously walking your dog after a lunch date, or quickly combing through your closet for something sassy to go out in, this pretty top can be rearranged for whatever occasion!DAY //Yes, I know that it's winter, but that doesn't mean your crop tops have to be put away. Pair them with some (not so high waisted) jeans and a fur jacket to keep you warm! NIGHT //You see that little red insert in the middle of the top, it's removable (*heart eyes*)! Thus creating a different look for the evening.  Black always makes an outfit look better! So I paired my top with my long black jacket, knit high slit skirt and these beautiful thigh high boots! What the fashion industry needs | Find your Forte & stick with it!

DSC_0050.jpg

I love style! I love how creative it is, different, extraordinary yet simple! There are so many attributes to one's style, but the one attribute I love the most is the unique story it tells. Forte's Forte captured my eyes and keeps me wanting more!Color is everything to me in an outfit! It sets the tone in each and every one of my looks! So I was extremely intrigued with Keresse, designer of Forte's Forte, color choices! Bold, funky, sassy and enticing. Each piece had such a unique quality and color that I loved!Forte's Forte was birthed out a tragedy (Our Story), but it's strength is woven into each and every stitch. Trust me, I wore the clothes and let me tell you, that weekend I was beyond exhausted, but I felt alive and powerful the minute I put on those green sassy pants and the stunning fringe top!It is undoubtably known that Forte's Forte is going to make a very big mark in the fashion industry! The way in encompasses the old era and the new era is something that fashion needs! After seeing the designs, strutting them for the camera, there were just two thing that I had to know! What inspired Forte's Forte?

I'm obsessed with 70s fashion.  I love flare pants, bell bottoms and attitude. I also love comfort. I make clothes for the girl that knows about running to catch the packed 5:07 train into the city, then running through penn to catch the E, only to have to look like a fashionista when you arrive. I want clothes, that are, fun comfortable, quality and bad A!

Where would you like to see Forte's Forte in the next few years?

I want to grow as a brand and become a respected name in fashion while still remaining boutique and exclusive. I'd love to have a showroom one day and have my garments in select shops!

Keep your eyes open y'all! Forte's Forte is about to break ground in the style and fashion industry and I'll be waiting with a front row seat. What are your thoughts on this up and coming fashion brand? Let me know in the comments below!Xx,
